An exhibition of work by Njideka Akunyili Crosby at the National Portrait Gallery. A Nigerian woman artist working with misxed media of photo transfer, collarge, print and paint on paper. Breaking up the spaces in such a way that she is asking for a conversation within the painting. this exhibiton has a whole room in the national portrait Gallery and has a very powerful statement about what the artist is trying to convery. I loved the colours and multi layered images keeping you busy for hours investigating the painting and always finding more information. This series is called the Beautiful ones and is taken from imagery of Nigerian children mainly her family and friends which gives us a glimps into her life.
